General notes and warnings
The projector is provided with a network terminal. Using a Web browser, the status of the projector can be checked.
To access the Web Utility, enter the following in the address bar of a Web browser:
http:// (IP address of projector)
When selecting the Setup Tab, you are prompted to enter a user name and password.
Enter them as follows:
---User name: service
---Password: (model of projector) (lower-case)
For Example:
URL: http:// 192.168.1.189
User name: service
Password: vpl-vw520es
Control Method
This driver supports Network and Serial control. When more than one control binding is made, the driver will automatically select the active control binding in this priority order:
1. Network
2. Serial
Network control
This device supports SDDP. For IP control using SDDP, this driver must be added to the project from the
Discovered tab on the Items pane in Composer Pro. There is no need to set the hardware to a static address when using SDDP.
Important Notes:
1. Sony projectors do not broadcast SDDP information in the OFF state. The projector must be ON to be discovered and identified by SDDP.
Serial/RS-232 control
38400 baud / 8 data bits / 1 stop bits / even parity / no flow control
Use a null modem cable to connect to your controller
Setup
Network Control:
To set up the projector Press Menu on the remote go to ‘Setup Menu’ (Toolbox), scroll down to Remote Start and set this to ‘OFF’, scroll down to Network Management and set this to ‘ON’.
Serial Control
In Composer, bind the serial connection to a Control4 controller. The physical connection is a null modem cable.
Driver properties
Lamp Hours:
Read only property listing the Lamp useage in hours as reported by the projector.
Command Delay Milliseconds:
The Command Delay Milliseconds value is simply the time elapsed between each command that is sent to the projector.
Power On Delay Seconds:
Used to establish the amount of time that will elapse during the power-on sequence before the driver continues to issue commands.
Power Off Delay Seconds:
Used to establish the amount of time that will elapse during the power-off sequence before the driver continues to issue commands.
Power Status Query Delay Seconds:
Used to establish the amount of time that will elapse after the power-on sequence before the driver issues a power status query command.
Network Keep Alive Interval Seconds:
When using the Network Control Method, the "Network Keep Alive Interval Seconds" value determines how often the driver will send a keep-alive query to the receiver. This query is useful in testing and maintaining a network connection.
MAC Address:
Read only property listing the projector's MAC address.
IP Address:
Read only property listing the projector's IP address.
Connected to Network:
Read only property indicating if the projector is online when using Network control.
Driver Name:
Read only property listing the driver's model name.
