CONTROL4 DRIVER FOR ARCAM AVR380 CINEMA RECEIVER
This driver enables control of the Arcam AV380 via serial control. It is a two way driver - any changes made on the unit in terms of volume etc will be fed back onto the Control4 UI.
The integration requires a F-F Serial connection.
----------------------------------
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS
- Perform your initial set up of the cinema receiver using the Arcam IR remote.
- In the General Setup menu option ensure that 'Control' is set to RS232.
- Make the physical serial connection between the AVR and the Control4 system.
- Ensure that the AVR is powered ON and not in Standby.
- Make the serial binding in Connections.
- If your physical connection and set up is correct you will then see the version numbers of the unit displayed on Properties.
- Make your AV connections to the AVR in Composer.
- Refresh your Navigators.
----------------------------------
PROPERTIES
You should not normally need to adjust any of these settings.
- Debug Mode - this will provide diagnostic printing on the Lua tab
- Power On Delay - this is the number of seconds after the unit is powered on the driver should wait before sending the next command in seconds.
- Command Delay - this is the delay between each command sent to the AVR in milliseconds.
- Set Input Command Delay - this is the delay after a new input has been selected before the next command is sent in milliseconds.
- Volume Ramp Delay - this is the delay between each volume up or down in milliseconds and can be changed to vary the speed of volume ramping.
----------------------------------
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Network player, USB and Internet Radio functions
-- These are designed to be used with the Arcam OSD. You cannot select music directly from the Control4 UIs.
- Zone 2
-- Note that the SAT, VCR and DISPLAY inputs are not available to Zone 2 even though the driver shows that they are. This is because the AVR cannot downmix the digital inputs to analog. You should hide these devices in the Zone 2 room in Navigator.
-- If you are using Zone 2 you must make physical analog video and audio connections to the AVR. The AVR does not down convert audio or video.
- Tuner
-- The tuner does not support direct frequency selection. Presets are supported and if you want to use Control4 Media Favorites you must store the required station in the AVR presets. Then use the preset number as the channel number when defining the favorite.
-- There is only one tuner in the receiver. You cannot listen to different tuners in the main and Zone 2 rooms.
- ARC (DISPLAY)
--To use the ARC on the HDMI output you must make a connection in Composer between your TV and the DISPLAY optical input on the driver. This connection does not physically exist on the AVR and you do not need to run a cable for this. The connection in Composer enables Director to see a route for the audio from the TV to the Receiver. Most TV drivers will have an optical OUT connection. If not then you will need to edit the TV driver to add one.
----------------------------------
CUSTOM COMMANDS
Various commands that do not have direct Control4 equivalents are available in Custom Programming.
----------------------------------
SUPPORT
For support on this driver please create a helpdesk ticket at www.extravegetables.com/helpdesk. Please give a detailed description of the problem. Please also include the version number of the driver and the version of Control4 OS that you are using.
