CONTROL4 DRIVER FOR EQ-3 MAX! RADIATOR THERMOSTAT
This driver enables a eQ-3 MAX! radiator thermostat to be integrated with Control4.
----------------------------------
IMPORTANT
This driver is designed only to be used in zones where a eQ-3 Wall Thermostat or Card Access device is installed to provide a Room Temperature reading.
Where no such device is installed use the Radiator Valve version of this driver which will only display the setpoint on the Control4 UIs.
NOTE THIS DRIVER ONLY WORKS WITH OS2.7 OR HIGHER
----------------------------------
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS
- Configure the MAX! System and set up the Master Driver.
- Make a note of the serial number of each TStat in the room.
- For each room only add a driver and configure for ONE thermostat - even if there are more than one radiator..
- Make Composer connections to set the Thermostat as the Temperature Display and Temperature Control device for the appropriate room(s)
- Ensure that this driver is connected to the main Max! Cube driver.
- Enter the Serial number of this thermostat on the Properties page.
- You should then see the name and room in which this Thermostat is defined.
- You can use the Auto Rename Property if you would like Composer to name the Control4 element to match the MAX! room or device name.
If you want to use a Card Access device as the temperature measuring device...
- Select the Card Access device on the Properties
- Select if you are using the local or remote sensor on this device
NOTE All the temperature display devices (including the MAX! Wall Thermostat) are simply used to display a temperature. The value reported by them is NOT used by the Thermostats.
You should now have control over the MAX! system
----------------------------------
SCALE
The MAX! system only works in Celsius. If you attempt to change the scale it will revert back to Celsius in a few seconds.
----------------------------------
Display heating on valve percent
This property determines when the Control4 UI shows the system to be heating. The nature of the system is that even when the room temperature is above the set point the valve may be open in order to maintain room temperature. If the valve is open greater than the value entered here the display will show the system as heating.
----------------------------------
MODES
There are two modes for the system - Heat Run and Heat Manu. Heat Run will mean that the thermostat runs to its programmed schedule. Heat Manu is Manual mode and effectively holds the current temperature permanently until it is changed.
There is no concept of OFF with MAX! as it is not directly controlling the boiler.
----------------------------------
PRESETS
The driver will import the current temperature values for the Eco and Comfort setpoints and create matching Control4 presets. These presets cannot be deleted or names changed. However you can edit the setpoint and this will be sent to the MAX! system.
You can create as many other setpoints as you require.
----------------------------------
SCHEDULING
The driver uses preset scheduling. Any changes made on the Control4 system are transferred to the MAX! thermostats ensuring they will continue to operate independently of the Control4 system. The MAX! system suports up to 13 scheduled events per day.
Schedule changes made on the MAX! system are NOT imported to Control4.
During setup you can use the Action tab to import the current MAX! schedule into Control4. This process will recognise if a time segment uses the Eco or Comfort temperatures. For each other temperature a new preset will be created. This will be named to match the setpoint such as Setpoint 19. You can then edit the presets to give them more meaningful names. You should only import once.
Preset scheduling means that if you adjust the setpoint of a preset all occurances of that preset will be adjusted to match and sent to the MAX! thermostats.
----------------------------------
HOLD AND HOLIDAY
Hold modes enable you to either set a Permanent hold which will overide the schedule or a Hold Until. Hold Until is equivalent to MAX! holiday mode. Set the holiday temperature you require and then the return date as a Hold Until.
----------------------------------
SUPPORT
For support on this driver please contact Control4 technical support or your local Control4 distributor.
----------------------------------
AUTO UPDATE
This driver supports Auto Update. To enable this feature select Automatic Updates to 'On' on the Properties of the main MAX! Cube driver page.
