You will need to turn off the VIERA Link. You can find this in the TV menu under Setup/VIERA Link Settings. YOU MUST CHANGE THESE SETTINGS: In the TV menu go to: 1) "Network/Control4 settings" enable Control4 discovery. This will need to be enabled to get the Control4 SDDP functioning on the TV. 2) "Network/TV remote app settings" turn on "Wake on LAN". Or this might be called "Networked Standby" This setting will need to be enabled for the TV to turn ON from an OFF state. Other settings in this menu are not important for driver communication. Driver Property: "Device MAC Address" This will auto populate when a valid network connection is made between Control4 and the TV. This property is used to turn on the TV from an off state. If this property is not populated you can populate it by selecting "Get MAC Address" LUA Action in the driver. Note: When changing the network connection from wireless to hard wired or vice versa. The TV's MAC address will change, you will need to use the LUA Action "Get MAC Address" and ask the TV what its new MAC address is. This is used to turn the TV ON using Wake on LAN. The MAC Address is asked by the driver when the connection changes and if the connection is online. So if you switch from wireless from hard wired it should automatically update the MAC Address. Internal TV Tuner: You can access the internal TV tuner by selecting the Default Input in the property of the TV Driver. Select the TV in system design. Select the Antenna and the default Input. This will allow you from a Control4 user interface to select watch and Panasonic TV. The driver will then go to the internal TV tuner. CONTROL METHOD ================= This driver supports Network control and SDDP. DRIVER PROPERTIES =================== TIMER DELAY PROPERTY SETTINGS For Network and Serial Control, the driver waits to receive acknowledgement from the device for the previous command before issuing subsequent commands. So in these cases the command timer, "Command Delay Milliseconds", value is the time elapsed before the current command is popped from the command queue and the next command in the queue, if any, will be sent. Power On Delay Seconds: Used to establish the amount of time that will elapse during the power-on sequence before the driver continues to issue commands. Volume Ramp Delay: Governs the amount of time between sending the next volume command. Polling Interval Seconds: Determines how often the driver will ask the TV it's status for power, input and volume/mute. Connected to Network: This property will go from true to false depending on if it is connected. When the TV turns off the network port shuts down and this property will change to false. Device MAC Address: This is the MAC Address of the network connection. This is used to turn the TV on. Button mapping: Guide Button: This is the Guide button on the Control4 Remote and GUI. It can be selected to be either the HOME or the GUIDE command. DEVICE SPECIFIC COMMANDS AND BUTTON MAPPING ============================================== Button mapping from the TV remote to Control4 remote GUIDE = Home Button or Guide Button --This is configurable in the properties of the driver. CANCEL = Return/Exit button PVR = Option button STAR = Hyphen Button used for direct channel tuning These buttons on the Control4 remote are not mapped to anything. Suggest mapping this from programming to either the Closed Caption or the Screen Format command based on the client's needs. POUND PAGE_UP PAGE_DOWN RECORD Buttons on the factory remote that are not mapped to any button on the Control4 Remote and were available from the protocol document. Info Frame Menu This is the same button and pressing and holding the HOME button on the factory remote. Screen Format Toggle This is the toggle of the aspect ratio TV STTL TEXT Closed Caption Guide Exit PROGRAMMING ============= Panasonic TV Events Channel Changes Event: It is not part of the Panasonic protocol to ask the TV what channel it is currently on. Therefore the Channel Change Event will only trigger when you tell the TV to go to a channel. This is either through programming set channel or scanned in channels via the media UHF/Cable broadcast cloud. TROUBLESHOOTING ================= Network Tools: When the TV turns off the network port goes offline. It is normal for the TV to show offline in network tools when the TV is off.
